What a conversation!

Clara really can engage you in a full conversation now and can describe all the interesting things that go through her three year old head. She is really into imagining things which for some reason surprised me at how early that starts. She is a champ at laying on the grass and telling me about all the fun things she sees in the clouds. That game I must say is one of my favorites. She likes to make you "meals" out of mulch and often it is waffles or ice cream. She even has Ellis fake eating her "meals"! Today she was outside picking the weeds to "make them grow". She kept calling them plantains even though I told over and over again that a plantain is like a banana. She has even had them before and insisted the plants were plantains and that I had to be quiet so they could grow. Not a very helpful thing to have to do when I am on the phone!

The kids are absolutely loving it in the backyard this year. Ellis spends most of his time in dirt, moving dirt, hiding dirt, and/or throwing dirt. That last one is his particular favorite. And seeing as my oldest is a sweet little girl that never threw ANYTHING, this whole throwing dirt and sand thing is giving me mild heart palpitations. I know I need to let it go but jeez, you throw it once, you see the allure, isn't it over already?

It will be SO nice when the guys go back there and do the work we have planned for this year. Nothing as crazy as last year: a couple new beds, mulching the whole thing, removing the plants on the side of the house that we hate so we can start over and general clean up. It already looks good before that work is getting done so it will be just awesome once it is all said and done. The mound of goodness that we have collected in front of the shed will soon be a grassy knoll and I cannot WAIT for that. All but maybe 3/4 plants from last year are coming back. Not a bad return considering how much work we did last year. I am flower crazy!
